Nelson Cruz: Shades Of Aaron Fn BooneNelson Cruz: Shades Of Aaron Fn Boone

Oops!  I did it again.  I played with your heart.  Got lost in the game.  Oh, baby, baby.  Oops!  -Britney Spears

Public Service Announcement:  Watching last night’s Red Sox – Rangers game brought back memories.  Terrible memories.  Horrible memories.  Painful memories.  It has been said that, “The heart that truly loves, never forgets.”  I truly love my Red Sox.  I don’t forget.  I can’t forget what happened on that fateful date of October 17, 2003.

You remember.  Just five outs away from losing the pennant, the Yankees rally from a 5-2 deficit to tie it in the eighth inning.  As the game moves into the bottom of 11th inning, Aaron Bleepin’ Boone is scheduled to lead off.  He led off all right.  Led off with a walk off.  Led off with a walk off against knuckleballer extraordinaire, Tim Wakefield.

Last night was more of the same.  Last night, Nelson Cruz hit a lead-off home run off Tim Wakefield in the bottom of 11th inning for the winner winner chicken dinner over my said same beloved Boston Red Sox.  Deja vu all over again?  You bet your bippy!  It’s only the second walk-off home run Wakefield has allowed in his major-league career.  That’s right, the first came in Game Seven of the 2003 ALCS.  Aaron Bleepin’ Boone!

Public Spectacle:

Peace out homies. Six two and Even!
